Westchester Real Estate Talk

Since I am on this site I thought I would tell everyone about the area I live in which is Westchester County In New York.  We are directly north of New York City and from the furthest point in Northern Westchester you can commute to New York City in about and hour and 15 minutes.  About 1,000,000 people live in Westchester. We have large cities, villages on the Hudson River, horse farms and vast acreage, great shopping, fine restaurants, beautiful parks, excellent schools and all within for the most part an hour to the city.

I personally live in Hartsdale which is in the middle of Westchester and is a 1/2 hour commute to the city.  My street has a rural feel and yet within five minutes I am in the midst of Central Avenue with it's strip mall feel and wonderful shops, large chains and foods of all nations.  Central Avenue for those of who don't know is a stretch that is also called Route 100 and runs from Yonkers to the south up to White Plains and the County Center.

We have a variety of housing choices, entry level pricing to the most expensive estates.  We have celebrities living in our midst from Martha Stewart, Raph Lauren, Chevy Chase in the northern areas, Bill and Hilary Clinton in Chappaqua. Meredith Veira, Eileen Fisher in Irvington and others.  We have museums, theatres and the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville.  All of the links and further information can be found on my web site.

Each community has a personality of it's own and moving here as I guess anywhere requires a bit of leg work and study to which community would fits your personality. I am one of the agents who loves to receive referrals.  While a lot of information is on the internet it is important to get in the car and see for yourself what some of these communities feel like. 

I have just found out about Active Rain and just love the concept,  This is my first post and I am now trying to figure out what topics I want to post on this site.  I do have a link to my other BLOG on the right.  I guess since it is the holidays I would like to express Happy Holidays to all.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year in 2007.  While everyone is complaining about the market I think it is a wonderful time for buyers.  We have lots of inventory and the rates are still low.  I am an Associate Broker in Westchester County, New York.  I list properties and also work as a Buyer's Broker.  I love referrals!  That's it for now.
